Late.

This is a song. I wrote it after reading an old hymn. It’s about what would happen if you reject the gift of salvation. I thought it was pretty hardcore.

Late. Too late. You can’t come in. The door is shut, The Christ has gone within.

The hour of His mercy is now over, Justice has closed the door. Now, it’s too late. Much too late.

Late, too late. You can’t come in. The music wakes within the gates as the crown settles on His brow.

The heavenly strains may reach your ear… the very sweetness fills the heart with fear. Because you cannot enter in.

While He patiently waits, sending messages, waiting as if if you were a friend… Why not attend His voice now?

Late. Too late. You can’t come in. The door is shut, The Christ has gone within. In vain you wait.

The hour of His mercy is now over, Justice has closed the door. Now, it’s too late. Much too late.
